O tratamento psicológico se refere à terapia ou psicoterapia, em que se busca tratar comportamentos, emoções ou pensamentos que trazem sofrimento ao paciente. Através da conversa, da escuta ativa e outras técnicas não verbais, o profissional psicoterapeuta ajuda o paciente a compreender o que está lhe causando sofrimento e como lidar com a situação, mudando a relação do indivíduo com as próprias emoções, pensamentos e comportamentos. Assim, o paciente melhora a sua relação consigo mesmo e com tudo que lhe cerca.
